JLR Teams Up With the Gorillaz… To Recruit Engineers. Hoping to work as an engineer at Jaguar- Land Rover? The British automaker recently teamed up with Grammy Winning English virtual band Gorillaz (known for hits “Feel Good” and “Dare”) to recruit new 1,000 electronic and software engineers of the band’s mixed reality app. Each applicant will take part in a two-part challenge.

The first part of the recruitment process will ask applicants to assemble the Jaguar I-PACE concept. The second part of the challenge involves code-breaking, which will test lateral thinking and problem solving skills. Those applicants that perform well will be fast tracked through the recruitment process.

“As the automotive industry transforms over the next decade, fuelled by software innovation, we have to attract the best talent and that requires a radical rethink of how we recruit,” Alex Heslop, Jaguar Land Rover’s head of electrical engineering, said in a statement. “Here we’ve found an engaging way to recruit a diverse talent pool in software systems, cyber systems, app development and graphics performance,” Heslop added. “It will be the first of its kind.”
